GLOW.LIGHTS
Glow Lights is a field of small luminous glyphs on a black ground. Each light is assembled from a simple vocabulary of white forms: the solid disc, the ring, nested rings, a halo of dots, and a few orbiting satellites. Lights shift slowly from one form to another, so the whole field flickers and breathes like a constellation thinking to itself.
With 50 lights the individual forms are easy to read. Each light holds its own place on a wide grid and changes shape where it stands.
At 1000 lights the grid tightens and the glyphs begin to dissolve into texture. The eye stops reading shapes and starts reading activity.
2000 lights press toward the limit of the screen. The field becomes a fine, shimmering fabric.
Released from the grid, the lights begin to wander.
100 lights leave their cells and drift across the dark, finding one another in small, loose gatherings.
With 1000 lights the grid breaks apart within seconds. The lights gather into drifting clusters and strands that form and reform like weather.
